Welcome to the exciting world of Career & Technical Education at Wylie ISD  The Career & Technical Education Department, using integrated instruction and curricula; current technologies and state-of-the-art equipment and business partnerships, create a learning environment that empowers all students to enter the constantly changing workplace.

Career & Technical Education programs are a great way for students to prepare for the highly technological and competitive workplace of the 21st Century.  CTE programs are designed to prepare students for life-long success in high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand occupations and career fields.

Career & Technical Education programs in Wylie ISD:
  • Reinforce state and national academic standards;
  • Link to business and industry;
  • Offer career development activities;
  • Provide ability to earn certifications;
  • Prepare students for challenges on higher education and a global, competitive workplace; and,
  • Provide rigorous instruction through hands-on problem solving projects.

Mission Statement
Career & Technical Education will provide a positive difference in the lives of our students by making connections through technology rich, academically rigorous curriculum and real world applications that empower our students to become contributing members of the global community.

Wylie ISD Career & Technical Education Goals
  • CTE students will graduate from Wylie ISD with an industry-recognized certification.
  • CTE students will earn college credit in CTE courses.
  • CTE program will provide a career learning experience prior to graduation.

Public Notification of Non-Discrimination In Career & Technical Education Programs
Wylie ISD offers career and technical education programs in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources, Architecture and Construction, Arts, AV, and Communication, Business Management and Administration, Education and Training, Health Science, Hospitality and Tourism, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Admission to these programs is based on interest and aptitude, age appropriateness, course pre-requisites, and class space available.

It is the policy of Wylie ISD not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or handicap in its vocational programs, services or activities as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
